Francois Peron National Pk

Explore by 4WD the scenic coastline featuring low shrub lands, rust red sand dunes and spectacular flowering plants in winter and spring. A wilderness experience for 4WD vehicles on dirt tracks to designated camping grounds and fishing spots. CALM has developed campsites at Bottle Bay, Gregories, South Gregories, Herald Bight and Big Lagoon. Big Lagoon is a spectacular sheltered waterway of calm lagoons where fish abound. No freshwater available, so please take sufficient supplies. Ideal place to watch marine mammals from the shore including dolphins dugongs, rays and sharks.

Beautifully maintained camping sites with chemical toilets and free gas barbeques are established throughout the National Park  and minimal fees apply  when you enter both and/or to the private station properties.

Peron Homestead
A former sheep station located in Francois Peron National Park, Turn off located on the Denham to Monkey Mia Road near Little Lagoon. The artesian hot tubs of warm (44 degree C) water are very popular with tourists. Peron Homestead Precinct provides insight into the Parks past, present and future. Stroll through Visitor Centre

Big Lagoon
A series of connected lagoons of exceptional beauty that were originally birridas (old salt clay-pans) that have become flooded by the sea. A superb waterway for canoeing with excellent fishing. Located within the Francois Peron National Park.
